Lighting Renovation at Air France Cargo in Roissy

Perfesco, a subsidiary of the EDF Group, is positioning itself as a key player in the energy transition. It invests in energy-efficiency systems on behalf of the Group’s major clients.

Energy efficiency is a top priority for its customers; however , the necessary budgets are not always available to address these challenges.

In response to this challenge, Perfesco offers a tailored solution by managing energy efficiency projects from start to finish:

  • From the design stage,
  • On execution,
  • It involves an investment and is paid based on performance.

Air France and EDF have had a business relationship for more than 50 years. As the largest employer in the Île-de-France region, Air France is therefore committed to maintaining optimal energy management.

That is why Perfesco proposed reevaluating the site’s lighting and replacing it with smart lighting systems. Thanks to this initiative, energy consumption was reduced by 90%. Remote control of each light fixture is now available. Each light fixture is equipped with a presence sensor and a daylight sensor. This is a major optimization effort, made possible by Perfesco’s technology monitoring, which allows the company to offer the very best solutions in the industry.

Twelve months after the system was implemented, feedback from Air France Cargo operators has been very positive. Remote control of the lighting fixtures makes it possible to adjust the illumination even in the darkest corners of the buildings. Air France Cargo’s energy bill has been significantly reduced: savings of over 80%! These results demonstrate the effectiveness of the solution provided by Perfesco.

The project has delivered the expected energy savings. As a result, Air France Cargo is very satisfied with this project and hopes to expand it to other buildings to further maximize energy savings.
